Marybelle moo-ves into asda
A farmer-owned Suffolk dairy is piling on the pints by supplying its milk to one of the county's busiest supermarkets.
>From Monday (21 June), shoppers at ASDA's Ipswich store will be able to buy Marybelle milk from the Suffolk Meadow dairy at Walpole.
Dairy farmers David and Colette Strachan established the Marybelle brand in 2002, and most of the milk comes from their 200-strong dairy herd at Rendham. Mr Strachan will be at ASDA on Monday to talk to customers about the milk that is produced on their doorstep.
Suffolk Meadow general manager Guy Plenderleith said: "We are delighted to be launching into ASDA. We're sure customers will find Marybelle milk to their taste, and we hope to extend the supply to other ASDA stores in future." This is the third major supermarket deal for Suffolk Meadow, which also supplies milk locally to bottled milk buyers, shops, schools, hotels and restaurants.
