New appointments have been made to the UK sales management team at McCormick Tractors International Ltd, Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

Jeremy Lamb, appointed director of sales and dealer development, returns to a front-line post in the industry following several years as an independent consultant to international farm machinery companies. Prior to that, he was a senior director of Case Corporation in Europe, a role that gave him extensive international experience of tractor markets.

In his new role, Jeremy will oversee UK dealer development and sales initiatives for products produced by McCormick's parent, the ARGO Group. These include Landini, McCormick and Valpadana tractors and Pegoraro cultivations equipment.

"ARGO is one of the industry's great success stories," he points out. "Despite being a privately-owned company, it has competed with the corporate giants of our industry to become one of the top five farm machinery manufacturers in the World with sales last year worth more than $1 billion (€918 million or £621 million).

He adds: "McCormick itself has also seen remarkable success in a very competitive market and I shall be making my contribution to ensuring it continues to be represented by some of the best dealers in the business."

Stewart Barnett has joined McCormick as UK sales manager. He brings valuable experience of tractor sales and service support from the perspective of both manufacturer and retailer, having spent 25 years working with the Case-IH product line, first in service support, then as territory manager and most recently in senior positions with two large Case-IH dealerships.

"I'm delighted to be renewing my association with the Doncaster plant and its tractors, especially at a time when the McCormick dealer network continues to grow," says Stewart. "There is still a very strong enthusiasm and loyalty to the products that now carry the McCormick name."

With the addition of several newcomers to the range, the McCormick line-up covers all needs, he points out, from the 40hp GM compact models to the high performance ZTX at up to 280hp.

"At the core of the McCormick range we have the 70-100hp CX, a tough, reliable every-day tractor, the 90-150hp MC and MTX mid-range machines and then the 160-200hp XTX with the latest electronics technology for top engine, transmission and hydraulics performance."

Stewart is married, has three children and lives near Spalding in Lincolnshire.
