Meat South West gets EBLEX £80k
THE English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) has agreed an £80,000 grant to help continue communications, marketing and livestock improvement work being done by Meat South West. The grant, agreed this week, will help livestock farmers in England's South West improve communications within the food chain and advance the marketing of their regional brand in butchers shops and supermarkets.
EBLEX Chief Executive David Croston said: " EBLEX is in the final stages of developing its marketing strategy, which aims to sell more English beef and lamb to English consumers. "The Meat South West project does just that and is an important one for both farmers and the rest of the industry in the region. "The aim of bringing farmers and processors closer together so they can understand one another's problems is also one EBLEX would applaud and the whole industry understands the need for improving the quality of our livestock." Meat South West is a sector group within the new South West Food and Drink group funded by the South West of England Regional Development Agency.
