Meeting to Discuss What Lies Ahead for Montgomeryshire Farmers

Farmers in Montgomeryshire will be given an indication of what lies ahead for the livestock industry at the next NFU Cymru county meeting on 23 January 2008.

Held at the Elephant and Castle Hotel, Newtown at 7.30pm, the meeting is open to all NFU Cymru members in Montgomeryshire. Guest speaker will be Thomas Binns, Chairman of the NFU livestock board.

NFU Cymru County Chairman, Bobby Morgan of Dolfach, Llanbrynmair said, "Farmers present at the meeting will have the opportunity to hear from Thomas Binns the general outlook for the beef and sheep sectors, along with specific current livestock industry issues such as Brazilian beef, sheep identification and cost sharing.

"Following the difficulties of last year, I sincerely hope that 2008 will bring improved prospects to Welsh farmers."
