Mighty Atom helping raise funds for Juvenile Diabetes at Cheshire Show
The CLA, Denton Clark and Walker Smith Way are joining forces at this year’s Cheshire Show to help raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which exists to find the cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications, and is the world’s leading funder of type 1 diabetes research.
To help generate interest for the cause, the CLA, Denton Clark and Walkers Smith Way stand will feature an Ariel Atom, one of the world’s fastest cars, on both days of the Cheshire Show.
The owner of the Atom, Jon Clarke of Hartford, Northwich, is lending his rare vehicle for the show as his son, Tom, was diagnosed at the age of 7 with Type 1 Diabetes.
CLA Communications Manager Mike Ashton said: "We are grateful to Jon for loaning us his precious Atom for the show, and we hope that visitors who would like to have their photograph taken with the car would make a donation to this worthwhile charity."
As well as raising funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the stand will feature specialist staff from the three organisations covering all aspects of farming, land management and rural business, as well as renewable energy.
