- Member manufacturing price up 1.0ppl
- Member liquid price up 0.78ppl
Milk Link has announced that it is to increase its Member milk price for February by 1.0 pence per litre (ppl) for manufacturing schedules and by 0.78ppl for liquid schedules. The latest increase means that Milk Link’s standard litre Member milk price for both manufacturing and liquid will be 26.00ppl. Overall, since the start of the current financial year, Milk Link has increased its Member milk price by 2.75ppl for manufacturing and 2.53ppl for liquid (not including the on average 0.35ppl paid to its Members at the end of May 2010 in the form of a Processing Interest Payment).
Commenting on the announcement, Neil Kennedy, Milk Link Chief Executive said: "As a farmer-owned dairy co-operative we are totally focused on maximising the returns we can generate on every litre of milk supplied by our Members and passing the benefit back to them as soon as possible. Our latest price increase is fully in line with this ethos and comes at a time when our Members, in common with all dairy farmers, are under huge financial pressure as a result of rocketing on farm costs particularly in relation to feed, fuel and fertiliser."
