Milk Link's new functional milk for Tesco
Milk Link, the farmer owned dairy co-operative, is producing a new semi skimmed milk enriched with vitamins for Tesco. This is a new kind of healthy milk which takes the naturally nutritious semi skimmed milk and enriches it with a mixture of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, B1, B6, C, D and E, folic acid, inulin and niacin. The product tastes just like milk should, but gives consumers a healthy boost to their vitamins, mineral and fibre levels.
This new product is the latest addition to the innovative range of functional milks which Milk Link manufactures at its Kirkcudbright site in Scotland. Other milks produced there include Nesquik Fresh, Flora pro-activ and Milk Link's own brand long life milk, moo.
Alli Lucy, Marketing Manager at Milk Link, commented: "This new milk is especially nutritious as it has been enriched with a special formulation of vitamins, minerals and fibre while containing no additives or preservatives, so it will definitely appeal to health-aware shoppers. The packaging also highlights how tasty the milk is, being made with high quality milk from British dairy cows.
We have a great background at Kirkcudbright of manufacturing functional milks, so it has been fantastic to work with Tesco in developing this exciting new milk. This product is also a good example of Milk Link's strategy of processing farmers' milk into high-quality value-added products."
The semi skimmed milk enriched with vitamins retails at 79p for a 1 litre carton and is available in 260 Tesco stores.
