Milk merger gets the green light

The NFU has warmly welcomed the decision by the Office of Fair Trading to clear the proposed merger between the co-ops First Milk and Milk Link.

Speaking after the announcement today (Wednesday) NFU dairy board chairman Gwyn Jones said: "This is excellent news for the two companies, their members and the whole dairy industry. It is important that we see rationalisation within the industry and although there is still a due diligence and member approval process to go through this is a big step forward."
