Minister accused of conflict over farm
P.E.I. Environment Minister George Webster had to defend his involvement in the family farming business Tuesday afternoon on the floor of the legislature.
Department officials ordered Webster's brother Bertie to plow under thousands of dollars worth of potatoes this summer charging they were planted too close to a waterway. During question period Tuesday, Opposition members accused Webster of having a conflict of interest in the affair.
Webster said he sent his brother to the gallows by allowing the order to go ahead.
