Native cattle numbers on par with 1970s

The rising popularity of Wales' native cattle has distant echoes of the breed's halcyon days in the 1970s.

Welsh Black Cattle Society (WBCS) this month signed up its 1,000th member, putting the breed back on par with its position 30 years ago before the influx of continental cattle.
