Networking lunch celebrates Women in Agriculture
Coutts & Co have hosted a Women in Agriculture networking lunch at their head office, 440 Strand, London. Coutts Chief Executive, Sarah Deaves welcomed more than 40 women, all of whom have made significant contributions to the world of agriculture.
Representatives from the Agribusiness industry, including farmers, breeders, journalists, members of livestock committees and environmental charities promoting sustainable food production and consumption to name a few, were given the opportunity to mingle and swap ideas in a relaxed, informal environment.
The day began when guests were taken on a Coutts archive tour followed a pre lunch champagne reception in the elegant Picture Room which carries historic portraits of former partners in the Bank including two portraits of brothers James and Thomas Coutts who ran the Bank together, from the studio of Reynolds and William Beechey respectively. A British-themed three course lunch was then served.
Sarah Deaves, Chief Executive, Coutts & Co. commented: "Coutts are delighted to host such an informative and valuable networking opportunity for innovative women working within the diverse Agricultural sector. Farming and rural life has in the past been perceived as a male dominated area, so an event such as this reaffirms the growing number of women who are achieving ongoing success in the business. Coutts has always been a strong supporter of women in business and we enjoy lending our support to events such as this. "
A third of the Coutts client base is female and the bank has been a provider of expert wealth management services to successful women, many of them entrepreneurs and landowners, for a number of years.
