New Beef Exhibition at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show
Beef will come under the microscope in a new exhibition for suckler producers, finishers and pedigree breeders, to be staged at the Dairy Event and Livestock Show at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on 17 and 18 September by its organisers the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers.
Developed in association with NBA, sponsored by EBLEX, the Beef Exhibition will focus on areas for cost saving and improved efficiency and feature a variety of exhibits of relevance to all members of the sector from handling to housing, and genetics to generating added value.
The EBLEX stand will host a ration clinic as part of the Better Returns Programme. Visitors are invited to bring along information for inputting into a software programme on the quantity and quality of forage and other available feeds scheduled for introduction to winter diets, in return ADAS nutritionist, Liz Clarke will offer advice on the most cost effective ration, according to farmers' individual systems
The new Beef Exhibition will also provide export opportunities for the pedigree sector and those exhibitors offering semen and embryos. Visitors from more than 30 different countries are destined to attend, each seeking to do business.
"RABDF's extensive research carried out at previous Dairy Events has revealed that the majority of our visitors manage more than just dairying as a livestock enterprise; 40% farmed beef cattle and 13% sucklers," explains the Association's chief executive, Nick Everington. "For each of the last three years Beef from the Dairy Herd has proved to be an exhibition of interest for the 4,000 visitors to the Dairy Event who also manage a beef enterprise. This year, we are expanding that exhibition and offering features of interest to all beef producers – those with pedigree herds, suckler and finishing enterprises, together with those seeking to add value with native breeds."
