New commercial manager joins an EPIC team
Lincolnshire Agricultural Society has appointed a commercial manager to look after its events at the Lincolnshire Showground and the soon-to-be-opened EPIC Centre, the UK's first purpose-built green events centre.
Jacqui Vear, aged 32, has joined the team from Lincoln's business support consultancy Success Matrix where she was Operations Manager involved in event and project management activities for over six years.
Originally from Horncastle, Jacqui has the responsibility of pushing forward the Society's Lincolnshire Events Centre which hosts a variety of indoors and outdoors events, from international celebrations of hope with 20,000 people to lectures, vintage rallies and antique fairs.
"I am very pleased to be working within the team at the Lincolnshire Events Centre and to be in the position to help them spread the word as far and wide as possible about the new enhanced facilities offered at the Centre," said Jacqui.
"We will aim to generate more bookings and maximise the use of the facilities, from small meetings and training events to large exhibitions and grand dinners."
Much of Jacqui's work will focus on the new EPIC Centre, due to open its doors to the public at this year's Lincolnshire Show, taking place on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 June 2008. The building offers a very large flexible space, which can accommodate up to 1,570 people.
The new environmentally friendly events centre, which aims to explore low carbon technologies and responses to global warming, will contain exhibition halls, offices and function rooms for public and business use.
Jacqui added: "I feel that we can be truly proud of this first UK purpose-built green conference centre. I am excited about my role moving forward; the building is extremely inspiring and I can't wait for the doors to open at our first event, the Sustainable Living Exhibition which is taking place during the Show.
"This exhibition will see an estimated 67,000 visitors over two days. It will incorporate 40 stands and feature environmental exhibitions and an Eco Consumers Marketplace; it is definitely not to be missed!"
