New Committee Officers Elected

The new committees of Derbyshire young farmers have now been formed consisting of Events and activities (E&A) or (A&E) depending on how you look at things. The new officers for this committee are Chairman Lena Wragg, Sectary Lorna Platts, County Ball co-ordinator Dawn Stretton, Pantomime co-coordinator Ian Bunting, Spring Fling/ Ball room Dancing co-coordinator Bob Dronfield.

The Finance and Management committees (F&M) new office holders are Chairman Stacey Bush, Sectary Jo Adams, Health and safety officer Joe Dalton, Child protection officer Georgina Mosley, Publicity officer Rebecca Platts. The Executive committee will remain the same, the executive AGM will be held on the 13th November 2008 at the Duke William public house, church street, Matlock, 8pm. We hope to see you all there.

Junior Public Speaking team 2nd at National

The national Sports and Speaking 2008 weekend was held at the Stafford showground on Saturday 11th October.

Derbyshire members took part in a number of competitions throughout the weekend against the best from England and wales.

The junior public speaking team, Tom Jolly (chairman), Callum Critchlow (vote of thanks) and Lydia slack (speaker) came second by one point to Brecknock. Lydia Slack named as the Best Speaker.

Congratulations should also go to Ashbourne young farmer who competed in the club promotion competition and were placed 4th. With Mydroilyn yfc from Ceredigion placed first.

23rd NE Christmas Cracker, Ashover Village Hall.

27th Belper YFC Christmas social.
