New director at Anglia Farmers
South Norfolk farmer Robert Alexander has joined the board of agricultural purchasing group Anglia Farmers. The appointment follows the recent transfer of the Eastern Machinery Ring, of which he was chairman, to Anglia Farmers.
Located in Pulham Market, Robert manages his family farm of 256 hectares (633 acres) and also manages a further 520 hectares (1285 acres) over five farms on contract farming arrangements.
All farms are based around heavy land farming rotations including wheat, barley, oil seed rape, vining peas and sugar beet. Previously Robert worked for a farm contractor in New Zealand for 12 months and then spent the next nine years working for John Deere UK mainly as an area service manager.
Robert is also a director of Anglian Pea Growers and vice chairman of the Diss NFU branch. Within his role at Anglia Farmers he is chairman of the AF Machinery & Land Services Executive.
