New Fengrain contract gives farmers reliable prices to 2010
Fengrain, East Anglia's leading grain cooperative, has launched a three year contract under its Fenpro brand to enable growers to plan with certainty right through to harvest 2010.
The 'Fenpro 3 Year Deal' offers a minimum price of £100/t and a maximum of £120/t for standard terms UK 72kgs/hl. feed wheat.
"Recent weeks have shown just how volatile grain markets can be," said Fengrain Chief Executive Mark Isaacson. "Farmers are becoming increasingly professional in their business planning. We have a growing demand for contracts that allow them to manage the risk of price volatility and to budget with greater certainty. What's more our offer is not conditional on a bioethanol plant being built.
"We believe the Fenpro 3 year deal is a unique and timely offer. By placing a percentage of their harvest for the next three years under this contract, farmers will gain invaluable protection against market variability."
