New Holland has further strengthened its extensive UK dealer network with the addition of J&S Lewis Ltd, a family run business which has been established for over thirty years. This new partnership will allow New Holland to continue the growth and development of its distinctive and highly successful brand.
J&S Lewis Ltd will have access to the extensive range of New Holland tractors and harvesting equipment, and will be able to cater more comprehensively for contractors and farmers by offering the full portfolio of combines, round balers and big balers – as well as the full tractor range.
James Lewis, Managing Director of J&S Lewis Ltd, says business was booming from the moment the New Holland partnership was formed:
"Historically we only tended to sell second hand New Holland combines. Since teaming up with New Holland we’ve sold three new combines, including a CR9060 and a CX8040 as well as four new tractors – and that’s in just a few weeks. It just shows that the market in this area is very much there."
The head office of J&S Lewis Ltd operates from a 1.25 acre site in Leigh with workshops and offices covering an impressive 15,000 sq ft.
On site, the J&S Lewis Ltd sales department has many years of experience and is looking forward to the opportunity of promoting the New Holland brand within the area.
The team of nine J&S Lewis service engineers are all factory trained and based in the J&S Lewis workshop, which is fully equipped with machine tools, presses, diagnostic equipment, a computerised spares identification system and a mobile dynamometer which is capable of testing machines up to 500kw/750hp.
James continues: "J&S Lewis Ltd is a local company – for local people: And above all, it understands the crucial importance of speed when it comes to resolving breakdown situations. Because of this, it runs a fleet of seven fully equipped service vehicles – so the company’s engineers are capable of dealing with the majority of breakdowns on site."
New Holland’s, James Doyle, said: "James and his team have an enviable reputation in the area for providing first class sales and after sales service - we believe they will be a real asset to the New Holland dealer network. The dealership prides itself, not just on the vast array of parts in stock, but on the dedication and vast experience of its staff who provide customers with a fast and efficient service. I’m sure customers will be impressed with what’s on offer here."
In a region where 90% of the farming is vegetable production and arable cropping, the J&S Lewis and New Holland partnership will offer a greater range of tractors and machines for contractors and farmers - a lot of which are still made in Britain - with an extensive choice of specification to suit the individual needs of its customers. The dealership will also be well placed to promote New Holland’s new concept in large scale agriculture - the T8 and T9 range that redefines high horsepower tractors.
James Lewis concludes: "We are determined to be the most efficient - and offer the best back up at the level our customers demand. The way modern farming is going in this area, there will be fewer machines doing more work. These New Holland machines are absolutely key to the contractors’ and farmers’ operations, so we want to ensure the staff at J&S Lewis have the best skills possible and the best resources available, to provide an extremely high level of service to keep those machines running smoothly."
