New mower developments from Fella

Two new drum mowers and a grouper attachment that allows adjacent swathes to be combined during mowing are among several new additions to the Fella range of grassland equipment distributed in the UK by Rustons Engineering.

The KM series drum mowers, incorporate hydraulic accumulators which ensure the correct weight is applied to the cutting unit to give optimum mowing and float in all conditions. Particularly good weight distribution and contour-following performance have been achieved by supporting the mower bed centrally on the support arm, rather than at one end. A single lever is used to lift the mower quickly out of work at headlands.

Both new KM models, which are available in 2.85 metre and three metre cutting widths, have four drums, each with three blades, and require a tractor with around 80hp and a 1000rpm PTO. The recommended retail price of the KM286TL is £6865.

Fella has also incorporated the one-touch headland lift system on its re-engineered SM series of disc mowers, which are now available in cutting widths from 1.6 metres to 2.8 metres. The 2.8 metre model is an addition to the range.

The swathe grouper, which allows two swathes to be combined together while the mower is cutting, is currently available for fitting to the SM310TL disc mower. It consists of a cross-conveyor which can be moved up out of the flow of mown grass or switched off completely from the cab, as required.
