New Zealand-Lamb for China.
NEW ZEALAND.
CHINA BUYS LAMB.
The new head of Meat and Wool New Zealand, Scott Champion, believes that China is the best available market for NZ second grade lambs.
China is already the largest market for lamb casings, skins and wool from New Zealand and lamb is the natural extension according to Champion.
Champion believes that Europe will always be a strong buyer for 50% of lamb produced, the US market however prefer the heavier lambs from Australia.
China, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand are in his sights for the markets of the future.
