NFU Cymru council re-elects new President and Vice-President

Dai Davies, a dairy farmer from Carmarthenshire, has been re-elected President of NFU Cymru and Edmund Bailey, a beef and sheep hill farmer from Meirionnydd, has been re-elected as Vice President.

Dai Davies runs a 360acre dairy farm and a small property letting business near St Clears in Carmarthenshire. He has been an NFU member for the past 34 years and has held a number of positions within NFU Cymru including Chairman of Carmarthenshire Milk Committee and the County Chairman. He is also involved within the Court Service as Justice of the Peace. Dai and his wife, Jean, have two grown-up daughters.

Edmund Bailey, farms 2,800 acres in partnership with his brother, Will, on the outskirts of the village of Llanbedr, in the county of Meirionnydd. They have 2,200 Welsh mountain ewes and one hundred sucklers. Ed's wife, Helen, is a magistrate and farmer in her own right. They have a son, Edmund and a daughter, Sarah.

Both have already served two years and will now serve another two years in their positions.
