NFU Cymru encourages members to spread ‘It’s Time to Back Welsh Farming’ campaign message

With the crisis in the Welsh dairy industry far from being over NFU Cymru will be launching the next weapon in its campaign fight at next week’s National Dairy Event - promotional display boards designed to help Welsh farmers promote themselves.

Specifically designed to fit to the tailboard of any livestock trailer, the corrugated plastic boards utilise the current NFU Cymru bilingual campaign slogan ‘It’s Time to Back Welsh Farming’. Designed to advertise the campaign the length and breadth of Wales, the boards will be launched on the NFU Cymru stand during next week’s National Dairy Event.

Commenting upon the launch of the boards, Stephen James, NFU Cymru President said, “Rarely these days do you see a tradesman’s vehicle not advertising the driver’s service or product – so why not in farming? The countless vehicles and trailers in Wales represent acres of advertising space lying empty on a daily basis and this is something we had to look at utilising for the benefit of the industry. We all have a role to play in promoting our industry. In the current climate, it’s crucial for Welsh agriculture to make full use of every available opportunity to promote and market ourselves.”

NFU Cymru launched the ‘It’s Time to Back Welsh Farming’ Campaign back in August with a hugely successful event in Cardiff City Centre, whereby NFU Cymru members gave out free samples of Welsh cheese, milk and Welsh lamb to shoppers. Since the launch NFU Cymru has toured Wales with its campaign trailer and done numerous events to promote Welsh produce.

The new trailer boards will be free of charge to NFU Cymru members. They will also be available on the NFU Cymru stand at the forthcoming Royal Welsh Winter Fair event.
