Dairy and Meat farmers going to New Zealand.

There is a meat and dairy mission going from Ulster to New Zealand on 26 January, to study and learn from the NZ farming sector.

With NZ as the worlds largest and most modern producer of milk, the mission intends to collect what information it can that may benefit them at home.

He delegates will also be visiting meat plants as well as beef and sheep farms, the whole idea has the full support of the three governments of Northern Ireland, England and New Zealand.

There are may similarities between Ulster and NZ, mainly a good rainfall and lush pasture grass, that is ideal for dairy or fattening sheep, with a focus on early spring lambs.
