Notable suckler herd included in Shropshire dispersal sale

A notable herd of suckler cows will be going under the hammer with store cattle, surplus farm machinery and 199 acres of winter grass keep at a genuine dispersal sale in South Shropshire next week.

Auctioneers Halls are conducting this sale at Freehold Farm, Norbury, Bishops Castle on Thursday, September 17 on behalf of Chris, Stuart and Robin Edwards as a result of unforeseen circumstances and a temporary readjustment of farm policy.

The auction comprises an excellent herd of 97 commercial suckler cows and calves, including Hereford cross, Belgian Blue, Charolais and Limousin. Also included are four stock bulls and 35 Charolais cross store cattle.

The cattle received a clear TB test on the August 3 and have been pregnancy detected prior to sale.

The good grass keep is available in suitable lots together with a small amount of surplus farm machinery, including a John Deere 6600 4wd tractor, a 1998 Richard Western FW12 tandem axle silage feeder, a J. F. GMS 3200 trailed mower conditioner and a tractor drawn stock box.

The sale begins at 10am and catalogues are available from Halls’ offices in Bishops Castle Tel: 01588 638755 and Shrewsbury Tel: 01743 284777.
