Oregon Christmas Tree Farmers Look To Green Farming

Portland, OR (AHN) - Some Oregon Christmas tree growers have created a way to help consumers determine just how "green" their tree is. Some growers in Oregon are hanging tags on their trees that let consumers know the trees were farmed following certain standards.

Among those standards, certain conditions have to be met about the farm's wetland, nutrient and pest management. Also, their water and soil conservation methods are reviewed and biodiversity and worker safety are considered.
