Out of Africa…and into Cheshire!
A TRIBAL gathering of Zulu Warriors will be causing heads to turn at this year's Cheshire Show, in June.
The 'Warriors', part of The Mighty Zulu Nation Theatre Company, have been invited to put on a dazzling display of song, dance and mime for this year's two-day Show.
Nigel Evans, Executive Director of the Cheshire Show, said: "We are delighted at the news. The Mighty Zulu Nation company has performed for the Queen, Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu – and we're sure their performance will be a memorable experience for Cheshire visitors too.
"The spectacular sight of a tribe of Zulu Warriors mixing with the traditional attractions at Cheshire Show will be very exciting to see," he added.
The Mighty Zulu Nation, who originate from Durban in the Kingdom of KwaZulu Natal South, have travelled as far as Australia and Russia in a quest to teach others about the Zulu way of life.
Their entertaining performances involve audience participation, combined with great skill and infectious good humour – all of which leaves those watching feeling breathless and uplifted by the experience.
Dressed in traditional Zulu costume, the Warriors are sure to make an impact along with a host of other attractions at the show which include a Game Fair, traditional and modern rural crafts, the Roberts Bakery Food Hall and Food Live, and hundreds of trade stands.
This year's Cheshire Show will be held on Tuesday, June 20, and Wednesday, June 21. There will be around 600 stands open from 8.30am to 6.30pm.
The Tabley Showground, near Knutsford, is situated just off the A556 road, about one mile west of Junction 19 of the M6 motorway.
