200kg substandard meat seized from Sunday bazaar

LAHORE: City District Government Lahore (CDGL) officials conducted multiple raids at various Sunday bazaars of the city for inspection and disposed off 200 kilogrammes of substandard meat seized from the Wapda Town Sunday Bazaar. District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajjad Ahmed Bhutta supervised the raids. The officials inspected a butcher’s shop and discovered substandard meat available for sale. They seized the meat in their custody while the butcher managed to escape from the scene. A case was registered against him. The DCO took notice of the misbehaviour of shopkeepers with the customers at Shadman Sunday Bazaar and ordered action against the market committee officials. He also issued orders for the transfer of market officials and expelled some shopkeepers from the bazaar after setting up a complaints cell. staff report
