PAKISTAN-MEAT LORRIES HI-JACKED.
Two meat-laden trucks were snatched at gunpoint near Taxila, while seven vehicles and motorcycles were stolen in the city on Sunday.
Ahsan, a Lahore-based transporter, told Wah cantonment police that three armed men snatched his two trucks loaded with meat from drivers Abdul Khaliq and Allah Rakha on the way to Peshawar near Barama.
He said the armed men also took away Rs 2 million cash and three cellphones.
Police registered a robbery case and began investigation.
Meanwhile, Arshad and Qasim reported theft of their cars from Gwalmandi Road and Roomi Park’s parking space respectively, while Farrukh Ali said his jeep was stolen from the parking lot of a private hospital near Sadiqabad police station.
Mubashir Maqbool, Waheed Ahmed, Saleem and Raza Baig complained of theft of their motorcycles from outside a private bank in the Airport area, Peshawar Road, Shah Nazar Pul and Shamsabad respectively.
Police of respective areas registered separate cases and began investigation.
Meanwhile, the federal capital reported four robberies in the day.
Muntazir Abbas alleged Qadeer and Naveed snatched Rs 0.209 million cash and a cellphone from him after injuring him near Bari Imam.
Wasim Akhtar said his shop was burgled in Nilore. He said the burglars took away cash and goods valuing Rs 30,000.
Ikhlaq accused Samar Gul of stealing Rs 30,000 construction material from his under-construction house in Golra, while Siddique complained of his motorbike’s theft from G-6/4.
Police began investigation after registering separate cases.
