FARM PRODUCTION TO DOUBLE.

The soy exports from Paraguay have been 6.9 million tons so far this season, making Paraguay the fourth largest exporter in Latin America after Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

Paraguay believes that soy production can reach 15 million tons, within the next two years.

Beef production is also set to double by 2012, with large investment into the beef industry from Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

Paraguay has been the second poorest country in the region, for many years, after enduring 50 years of a brutal dictatorship.
