Presidency for MLC man Henry

A TOP honour has been conferred on Henry Lewis after a lifetime's dedication to the cattle industry. Henry, Livestock Export Marketing Manager for the Meat and Livestock Commission has been invited to become president of the British Cattle Breeders Club.

He will be following in the footsteps of people such as Prof Alan Robertson, Sir Richard Trehane, Sir John Hammond and John Moffat. Henry said: "I am greatly honoured and humbled by the invitation to become president. "The club provides a unique service to the cattle industry at large, not just here in Britain, and its annual conference is an effective forum to bring all sides of the industry together. "It is an exciting time for me to be associated with the club when we expect to see the EU ban on the export of breeding cattle from Britain lifted, because I know there is keen interest in them both in Europe and elsewhere."

MLC Director General Kevin Roberts said: "This is well-deserved recognition of the major contribution Henry has made to the British cattle industry over the last 40 years both at home and abroad." Henry will take up the post of President at the end of next year's conference in January.
