Recent Rain Provides Relief for Farmers

Area farmers received some welcome relief as three inches of rain fell upon Central Virginia last week. While recent drought conditions have hurt farmers throughout the state, David Wampler, a local dairy farmer said he is faring better than most.

A large enough harvest is filling his silos, which should be enough to feed his cattle through most of the winter.

Weve had enough rain at different times. We never had much over an inch at time, but different showers would hit in here and did make a close to average crop, said Wampler.
