Republic of Ireland-European Grants for West of Ireland farming industries.
IRELAND
16 MILLION EUROS TO WEST OF IRELAND FARMING.
There has been an award from the European Union of 16 million euros, to aid the farming community in the west of Ireland.
The money has gone to Headland cattle market 117,607 euros, Ballinasloe Livestock market 64,255 euros, Athenry market 42,560 euros, Gort market 20,160 euros and there was an award of 637,110 to the meat company of Heaney Meats.
The Minister of Agriculture Fisheries and Food, Brendon Smith, announced the award of the grants, totaling 16.7 million euros.
The minister said " This investment will create significant employment during the construction stage of the new facilities and will also create additional jobs, when construction is finished in the agriculture and food sectors".
