Republic of Ireland-Japan opens doors to Irish Pork.
IRELAND.
JAPAN OPEN FOR IRISH PORK.
THE minister of Agriculture in Ireland, Brendon Smith announced on Tuesday that Ireland is free to export pork to Japan.
This is wonderful news for the Irish pork industry in the wake of the recent meat re-calls, as it gives a very lucrative additional market to Irish pork.
Japan has been buying pork from Ireland since the early seventies nearly 40 years ago and both countries have enjoyed a healthy trading relationship.
Handled correctly, this could indeed be the answer to a maidens prayer, for the troubled Irish pig farmers and pork processors
