JAPAN PRAISES IRELANDS HANDLING OF PORK DIOXINS.
The government of Japan, complimented the Irish government of the prompt and effective action they took, in relation to the recent meat re-call.
More important they have opened the doors to their valuable pork market. Japan went down the very same road with Chile in late November 2008, who had an identical problem, the moment to problem was resolved and thanks to the cooperation shown to the government of Japan, normal exports began very quickly.
The Minister of Agriculture of Japan Shigeru Ishiba, had a meeting with his counterpart in Ireland Brendan Smith and congratulated the Irish Minister on the way the situation had been handled.
