Rounding up the livestock!

Livestock entries remain open for the Newark & Nottinghamshire County Show (14 and 15 May) and there is still room for all classes in Cattle, Beef, Pig and Sheep sections. One highlight of entries received to date is that of Highland cattle; breed classes have been reintroduced at Newark following an absence of a few years.

Newark prides itself on being a true agricultural county show – providing all-round, value-for-money, family entertainment - and is the first big two-day event of the outdoor season; offering a wonderful opportunity for farmers to show off their animals and socialise among friends and fellow competitors.

Exhibiting at a county show provides a pleasant interlude in farmers’ daily life and Newark’s stewards are renowned for their knowledge and experience.

Schedules are available by post from the Competitions & Entries Secretary, Newark & Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society, Newark Showground, Lincoln Road, Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire NG24 2NY (please enclose an A5 addressed envelope with 75p postage) or can be downloaded from the website: www.newarkshowground.com. Entries can also be made online or by post.
