Meat Production to Grow by 11.6% to 2.9 Million Tons in the Russian Federation in 2008

Meat and by-product manufacturing totaled to 2.9 million tons in Russia in 2008, up 11.6% compared with 2007, as Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) reports.

In December 2008, meat production including by-products grew by 12.9% in comparison with December 2007 and by 11.9% in comparison with November 2008.

Sausage product manufacturing increased 1.4% to 2.4 million tons in 2008.
