Russia-Cut in Turkey production.

RUSSIA-CUT IN TURKEY PRODUCTION.

Krasnoyarsk Company Sibirskaya Gubernia (part of ALPI) refused to produce turkey at Yasnogorskaya Poultry Plant in Kemerovo region. Significant increase of costs for purchase of foreign feed and other materials due to ruble devaluation has made the production unprofitable one. To return the profitability of the enterprise Sibirskaya Gubernia decided to start "heavy" broiler production (with extended term of growing).

Yasnogorskaya has facilities for production of 1.5 thousand tones of meat (carcass weight basis) a month. The enterprise is equipped with German feed equipment of Big Dutchman and slaughtering line of Stork (1 thousand heads per hour).

Apart from all, due to drop of demand for goods, large stockpiles of frozen turkey which didn’t find the market (over 500 tons) have been formed at the plant.

Instead of turkey production, growing and processing of "heavy" broilers have been already started at Yasnogorskaya. The growing period will be extended up to 60 days instead of usual 40-45 days. Broiler weight will amount to more than 3 kilograms. Such a specialization was chosen in accordance with the equipment installed at Yasnogorskaya, which was designed for gross poultry handling. ALPI expects Yasnogorskaya to increase poultry production output from 17 thousand tons of turkey to 20-30 thousand tons of broiler a year.
