Russia-EU Inspecters visit meat plants.
RUSSIA - EU INSPECTIONS OF RUSSIAN MEAT PLANTS.
The Heads of the Rosselkhoznadzor Veterinary Surveillance Department, of the Rosselkhoznadzor Territorial Administrations for Moscow and the Moskovskaya Oblast, St. Petersburg and the Leningradskaya Oblast and heads of some analytical centres and laboratories under Rosselkhoznadzor met with the EU experts that had completed their inspection of the Russian laboratory control system for animal product safety in Moscow recently.
John McEvoy Head of the expert group and Head of the FVO Residues Group of the European Commission Health and Consumer Protection DG expressed his appreciation to the Rosselkhoznadzor because the visit to Russia was organised at a high level.
The EU experts visited the Central Scientific and Methodological Veterinary Laboratory in the Moskovskaya Oblast, the Federal Governmental Institution "All-Russia State Scientific Research Institute for Monitoring, Standardisation and Certification of Veterinary Preparations and Feeds (the FGI VGNKI) in Moscow.
They also visited the Leningrad Interregional Veterinary Laboratory in St. Petersburg, and territorial administrations of the Rosselkhoznadzor for Moscow and the Moskovskaya Oblast, St. Petersburg and the Leningradskaya Oblast.
The delegation also saw the wholesale distributors of veterinary preparations and producers of drugs OOO "NVTS Agrovetzaschita S-P" in Sergeev Posad of the Moskovskaya Oblast.
The toured the feed mill of OAO "Istra-Khlebproduct" in the Istrinsky Rayon of the Moskovskaya Oblast and the poultry plant OAO "MOSSELPROM" in the Damodedovsky Rayon of the Moskovskaya Oblast and OAO "Zoovetsnab" in St. Petersburg.
A preliminary inspection report will be submitted to the Rosselkhoznadzor within 20 days after the visit, a full report will be placed on the site of the European Commission Health and Consumer Protection DG within six months.
