McDONALD’S EXPAND TO 233 STORES

McDonalds opened 40 new restaurants in Russia, making a total of 233 stores in all by the end of 2008.The burger giant opened 21 restaurants in 2007, The company has plans to refurbish its existing restaurants at a cost of $500,000 each.

Khamzat Khasbulatov, the president of McDonalds ,Russia and Eastern Europe, said that the company is also planning to add 24 hour express windows and drive thru windows to more of their Russian stores.

Multi National agricultural equipment company John Deere says it has signed a deal with the Russian government ,to build a new $80 million factory for distribution and spare parts at Kauga 38 miles south west of Moscow.

Chairman of John Deere, Robert W Lane, said this was one of the largest non Russian investments in farm and forestry equipment in Russia. The new center will be operational by 2010 and have training facilities for staff, on the 39 hectare site.


John Deere have been selling tractors in Russia since the 1920’s,mainly plough’s and harrow’s and the famous Waterloo Boy tractor.
