RUSSIA-Meat Production to Be Down for one month in Russia

Meat production, including by-products was down 11..1% to 241 thousand tons in January in Russia, if compared with December 2008, as Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (Rosstat) reports. Thereat, meat production grew by 11.7% from January 2008.

Sausage product manufacturing decreased by 5.9% to 167 thousand tons from January 2008 and was down 21.9% from December 2008.
