RUSSIS-MEAT BAN ON 10 US MEAT PLANTS.

As Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) reported to Interfax, the ban would be imposed in a view of "gross violations of Russian legislation in veterinary sector". The restrictions mostly relate to poultry and pork producers.

Thus, the ban on supply was imposed in relation to the following enterprises: 320М, 18079, 85В, 85О, 27398, 3898, 18435, 31552, 9201, 18674.

Pursuant to Rosselkhoznadzor’s statement, the decision on entry of products manufactured at the aforementioned enterprises prior to February 10, 2009 to the Russian Federation will be made according to usual procedure.

The agency’s representative says that this case like many others shows that American party often disregards Russian rules of product supply and doesn’t meet Russian requirements.
