Russia-New poultry ban on France.

Rosselkhoznadzor Imposed Temporary Restrictions on Poultry Product Supplied from France

From February 10, 2009, Federal Agency for veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) imposed temporary restrictions on imports of live poultry, hatching eggs, feather and floccus, poultry meat and all types of poultry products, feed and feed additives for poultry, as well as equipment used for poultry raising, dressing and slaughtering from Vendee Department in a view of registration of avian influenza A virus of subtype H5N3 outbreaks in the territory of France.

Supply of the said products from French Republic to the Russian Federation, shall be effected upon condition that in clause 4 of veterinary certificates for raw poultry and poultry products, as well as for day-old chicks, turkey pouts, ducklings, goslings and hatching eggs of these poultry types exported from EU to Russia, after words "- of avian influenza subject to obligatory declaration – within the last 6 months in the territory of EU country-member (in accordance with Sanitary Code of Terrestrials of OIE)" there is the record "apart from Vendee Department", certified by signature and seal of the veterinarian, who prepared this veterinary certificate.
