Russia-Pork production increases 4.4%.

RUSSIA-PORK PRODUCTION UP 4.4%.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of USA, the pork production in Russia is to increase 4.4% in 2009. The pigs’ livestock is to rise to 43.6mn against 41.8mn in 2008. The increase in figures is to be provided at the expense of the growth of state subsidies for the industry and the decline in meat imports.

The beef production is to fall 3% in 2009 to 1.28mn tons against 1.32mn tons in 2008. According to experts, it is due potential investors, who are not interested in the sector’s development due to the low profitability.
