RUSSIA-POULTRY PRODUCTION.
Companies of Mari El republic are planning to increase poultry meat production to 20,000 tons in 2009 and to 50,000 tons in 2010-2011. Zvenigovskaya and Akashevskaya poultry farms are constructing slaughterhouses. The capacity of the one at Akashevskaya farm is to total 6,000 birds per hour. Poultry houses in Goluboye and Solnechnoye settlements are being reconstructed and their launch will let Akashevskaya boost poultry meat production to 18,000-20,000 tons a year.
