Russian Agricultural Division: spring crop harvesting continues

Russian Agricultural Division, PAVA subsidiary that operates in the Altay and Krasnoyarsk Territories, says harvesting campaign of spring crops continues successfully. The company has invested significant funds in development of farming production, seeking to enhance yields.

The leader of the current campaign is ’Agrofirma Niva’ LLC located in the Solton district. The farm has harvested 50% of the total spring wheat acreage, and the average yield levels stand at 20 hundredweight per ha, surpassing the forecast by 16%. ’Niva" is also engaged in mowing buckwheat, having completed these operations by 50% likewise.

Spring wheat yields in Allac LLC (the Kamensky district), obtaining the daily average of 350 tonnes of grain, reaches higher level - up to 22 hundredweight per ha. Specialists note that despite recent rainy period, a significant share of the crop is valuable third class, rich in gluten.

RAD CEO said Friday, "Beneficial weather over the past week allowed us to achieve a breakthrough in results; however, we strongly endeavor to conduct harvesting at priority rates. The machinery is loaded to the maximum level and farmers have demonstrated strong commitment. We believe that RAD will succeed in achieving 2009 targets".
