School apology after anti-milk lesson

A LLANGOLLEN high school has said sorry after angry parents complained that their children had been told in a lesson not to drink cow's milk.

Parents in the agricultural community were upset that their children were given a talk promoting soya milk products over Welsh milk at Ysgol Dinas Bran.

Trefor Lloyd Jones, who farms and milks cows at Rhydonnen Isaf, Rhewl, near Llangollen, was furious when his youngest son Alun told him about the lesson, given by animal welfare pressure group Compassion in World Farming (CIWF).

Mr Lloyd Jones believed the lesson was biased, highly sensitive and political, and he contacted the school to make his views known. He said that Neil Garvey, the head of year eight, had apologised to him.
