LIVER FLUKE.

There is increasing concern over liver fluke in Scotland, according to recent report by the government.

This is despite drenching and the use of flukecide treatment by farmers.

The size of the flukes taken from livers at the abattoirs, from October and November, indicate problems ahead for farmers.

Fluke is very common in many parts of the country mainly on clay or heavy land that has a high rainfall and bad drainage.

The liver fluke has not been common on high ground with good drainage and waste water disposal.
