Search on to find Uk's best Post Office branch
What do a pub in Cumbria, a church in Orkney and a goat farm in Essex all have in common? They are all competing for the title of Best Post Office® branch 2006.
Customers who would like to have their say on which branch deserves to be voted the very best in the country have until 1 September 2006 to cast their vote.
A whole host of unusual locations for Post Office® branches have already been nominated. These include the Horse and Farrier pub in Dacre, near Penrith, a church in Twatt, Orkney, and a goat farm in Abberton, near Colchester.
Entry forms are available from Post Office® branches nationwide, or customers can place their votes online at www.bestpostoffice.co.uk. Every customer who nominates their branch has the chance to win one of nine regional prize draw prizes of £500 in postal orders.
With prizes for the best rural, town and city and main Post Office® branches, all of the Post Office®'s 25 million customers who visit its branches each week can vote for their local branch, whether it is located in a large city shopping centre or based in a village pub.
Nominations can be made not only for excellent customer service, but also for charity fundraising, community spirit and innovation in bringing the wide range of Post Office® services to people wherever they live in the UK.
Alan Cook, Managing Director of Post Office Ltd, said: "The Post Office® has already received thousands of nominations for its branches across the country – but it's still not too late to vote. We value our customers and their views so the Best Post Office® Awards provide an excellent opportunity for our customers to tell us which branches are the very best, and in turn allow us to recognise the hard work and commitment of our people in branches across the UK."
There will be regional stages in nine areas across the UK, and the winners will be announced in October. Regional finalists go on to the national awards final in November.
