Seed treatments approved for wider range of crops
Bayer CropScience is pleased to announce that the majority of its new generation of cereal seed treatments have received PSD approval for use on a wider range of crops.
Redigo (prothioconazole) fungicidal seed treatment, which already has winter wheat, spring wheat and winter barley on the label, can now be applied to durum wheat, rye, triticale, winter oats and spring oats.
In addition to its existing winter wheat approval, Redigo Twin (prothioconazole + fluoxastrobin) can now be used on durum wheat, rye, triticale and winter oats.
Bayer’s new insecticidal seed treatment, Deter (clothianidin) and the dual purpose Redigo Deter (prothioconazole + clothianidin) are both now approved for use on durum wheat, rye, triticale and winter oats, as well as their existing approvals for winter wheat and winter barley.
Bayer’s seed treatment campaign manager, Adrian Cottey, welcomed the approvals as good news both for growers of these more specialist crops and for the seed treatment processors who apply the product to the seed. “Oats, in particular, is an increasingly important crop in some parts of the country, so we are very pleased that growers now have the opportunity to protect their crops in their early stages with these innovative treatments,” he said.
