Seminar for farmers on surviving testing times

A seminar in Stratford-upon-Avon will give farmers and landowners vital advice on how to survive the recession.

Stratford-upon-Avon law firm Lodders, Banbury chartered surveyors Fisher German and the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation are holding a joint seminar "Your Money Our Expertise – Ways To Survive In Testing Times" at Stratford Livestock Market, Clifford Chambers on Thursday June 4 at 5pm.

Lodders senior partner David Lodder said; "The seminar is intended to cover a number of interesting and varied subjects as we all plan for the times ahead and look at opportunities that may be available.

The speakers will include Alex Fair of Lodders on the benefits of land registration, Stephen Rice of Fisher German on alternative renewable energy sources focusing on anaerobic digestion and Andrew Connah of AMC on the current state of lending and what is expected in the future.

David Lodder will speak on estate planning and wealth management dealing with trusts and partnerships as well as Agricultural Property Relief, Business Property Relief, Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax.

David Kinnersley of Fisher German will look at budgeting and cash flows for the year ahead – including various types of farming agreements – and Helen Gough of Lodders will speak on diversification projects and the legal requirement for planning permission and agreements.

The session will be wound up by Charles Haselwood and Matthew Allen of Fisher German with a topical update, including the state of the agricultural land market.
