Sheep numbers drop 11 percent in NZ

New Zealand, land of the long white cloud and sheep - lots of sheep - is suffering from a 11 per cent drop in the numbers of their woolly friends.

Sheep have always outnumbered people in New Zealand, with jokes aplenty borne out of the country's predilection for all things mutton, lamb and wool, but drought and dairy expansion have seen the national flock drop from 34.2 million from 38.5 million in just a year.
